Winter is one of the busiest seasons here in Crested Butte, and with that, many people from all around the country head to our charming town to experience it and take advantage of all the snow. During winter time, many resorts in Colorado open. Crested Butte Mountain Resort, which is a big player that brings in thousands of tourists, with some of the best extreme skiing terrain in the country. The resort provides lots of itineraries for tourists. They also partners with many groups to host fun and wacky of winter events.
With many years experience and being a touristy community, the town is prepared to accommodate thousands of tourists at a time that come and go through-out the season, and because of our high altitude, it is possible that ‘winter’ activities can be experienced throughout most of the year. This year alone, we experience snowfall up until end of spring, a few snowfalls here and there during summer, and it looks like we will be having early signs of snow this autumn.
Speaking of winter events, there are many annual winter events that line up throughout this season. This includes sports competitions like the Fat Bike World Championship and other events to cater for the up and coming holiday season.
So how does one get here you might ask? Well, for one thing, we will have non-stop flights to Crested Butte and Gunnison. Winter of 2019 through 2020 has been covered by United Airlines and American Airlines for three cities.
