There is no vacation like a summer vacation. If you wish to escape from the hot and humid, but want to enjoy the fun perks of what the summer brings, then do consider visiting Crested Butte and Gunnison to beat the heat. Imagine a relaxing day swimming in cool, gentle springs, or if you wish to be one with nature, there are many campsites around the community for one to immerse themselves into and experience what a true mountainous lifestyle feels like. If you wish to learn more of what Crested Butte and Gunnison has to offer, feel free to check out the Top 10 Things To Do In The Summer or the Summertime in Crested Butte.

How do you get here? Crested Butte and Gunnison might be a little difficult to travel to, comparing it to most places in Colorado, but I assure you that the trip is well worth it. Almost every corner in the community is a breathtaking, picturesque landscape, worthy of being posted in all your social media accounts; not to mention all the memories you will have while staying here that will enchant you for years to come.

If you live far way, the best way to get here is by flying to the Gunnison Airport, which is the closest airport to Crested Butte, just 28 miles away, and 31 miles from the town of Mt. Crested Butte. This summer, there are non-stop flights to Crested Butte and Gunnison from 2 major cities on United Airlines, Denver and Houston. An additional perk, is that the RTA has contracted with United Airlines to provide service daily non-stop flights from Houston.
