Property Home Owners Insurance
Let’s talk property insurance.
Types of Property Insurance
Homeowner’s Insurance: This type of property insurance that covers losses and damages to a person’s home and/or assets in the home. This insurance also provides liability coverage against accidents in one’s home or on their property.
Condo Insurance: Is insurance you purchase to protect your personal property, the interior of your unit which can include any improvements that have been made to your unit. You will also have liability protection for bodily injury or property damage to others. Typically with condo purchases, we see this type of insurance in place and what we call as insuring from the “drywall in.”
Renter’s Insurance: This can also be called tenants’ insurance. This type of insurance provides some of the benefits of Homeowner’s Insurance but does not include coverage for the dwelling, or structure, with the exception of small alterations that a tenant makes to the structure. It is basically designed to help protect you and your belongings. A usual renter’s insurance also covers for additional living expenses, should the home you’re renting become temporarily uninhabitable.
So it goes to show that when purchasing a property, insurance plays a huge role.
Insurance is a way to avoid and minimize risks. You can get insurance from an insurance firm or even a bank. When you are properly insured, you transfer the cost and responsibility of a potential loss to the insurance company in exchange of money, which is known as the premium.
Now, why is insurance important? It is useful because it can help you in many ways. Not only can it act like a guarantee that your home is protected but it also can be a plus when purchasing a home via loan from mortgage lenders and banks needs to know this to ensure that their investment in you is secure and to approve the loan.
