The LandShark Pond Skim is one of those events that mark the ending of Winter. This is the time where there is still some snow, or the remnants of it, and the time where Crested Butte thaws out.

The event will be on April 6, 2019, 2 pm and is hosted by the Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Everyone can watch for free, and it will be a perfect excuse to celebrate the coming of the spring/summer. It is very much encouraged that people dress up in silly costumes to watch or participate in the celebration.
There is no official news yet, for this year, if contestants will pay a registration fee to participate in the LandShark Pond Skim, but for last year, the fee was $10 per person. In the event, contestants have to skim across water on their skis and snowboards. The most important rule for the contest is that there is absolutely no ski pole usage allowed.
Whether you are participating in the contest or just a spectator, one thing is for sure, the event is hilarious and the crowd is really awesome!
If I can help you with a real estate purchase or if you are ready to sell, let me buy you a cup of coffee and let’s discuss Crested Butte’s potential. Who do you know that wants to buy or sell a property? Let the Heather Woodward Team help.
