Another popular winter event has to be Cosmic Series, which, from the words themselves, are a series of competitive ski mountaineering races in the Rocky Mountains and beyond. Each race is thought through and planned out for all the participant's mountaineering experience and levels. In this way, it can bring out the best in oneself, challenge many and provide a variety of choices for the participants.

Some of the events are:

The Five Peaks, Breckenridge which will be on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 6:00 am through 12:00 pm, presented by CAMP. This race is not for the inexperienced and it is recommended that you try other races before this one, as this race will test your endurance, skills, and experience. This event will be the highest ski mountaineering race in North America.

The next event will be the Shedhorn Skimo Race at the Big Sky Resort on Saturday, March 17, 2018, from 8:30 am through 2:30 pm. There will be different races in the day which will divide participants into different groups depending on the skill level that they are most comfortable with. This race will be held in extremely high elevations that is why there will be certain precautions and checks to see if participants are well and prepared for the races.

Another event is the Griggs Orthopedics Ski Mountaineering Race at Crested Butte. This will be a two-day event. One will be on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 4:30 pm and the other will be on April 1, 2018, at 9:30 am. The races are specifically designed for racers who want to challenge themselves to a vertical race and individual race. Like all races, there will be specific guidelines and rules for everyone to follow so that everyone participating will be prepared and safe.

Another event will be the Cody’s Challenge which is a race designed for everyone, from the professional racer to the first-timers. This race also has a charitable purpose as all proceeds will help fund The Cody St. John Memorial Scholarship, which awards scholarships to professional ski patrollers for continuing medical education.
